Therapeutic Approach

Dr. Wierzchowski emphasizes that one is not alone, no matter the burden they carry. In both neuropsychological assessment and psychotherapy, she emphasizes a relational, person-centered approach. Objective information gathered from neuropsychological assessments helps bring the missing pieces together to complete the puzzle of mental/physical health complexities.

In therapy, she works together with the patient to heal hardships and traumatic experiences. Other psychologically related difficulties may include vicarious trauma, living with complex and chronic physical and mental ailments, grief/loss, managing life transitions/changes that have brought about stress, anxiety, depression, identity/self-esteem issues, and relational conflict. The goal is empowerment with the tools you need to regain hope and carry on, no matter how dark the experiences may have colored your world. The wound is the place where the light enters you (Rumi).
